Depositions, legal memoranda, accounts of debts, drafts, letters and other materials (some copies) related to this civil suit of admiralty jurisdiction, brought for failure to make payments on debts owed. Included are depositions of libelees Joseph Leonard, and Daniel Richards heard before George W. Morton, a commissioner appointed by the Circuit Court of the U.S. for the Southern District of New York (2nd Circuit), and deposition of libellant Moses French, given before William Simmons, justice of the Boston police court and the Justices Court for Suffolk County (Massachusetts). Augustus Peabody was attorney for the libelants; Hubbard Watts was attorney for the libelees. Several documents are in the hand of attorney John A. Rockwell.
